BJP National President Nitin Nabin Visits Ranchi, Holds Key Organisational Meetings Ahead of Rajya Sabha Elections in Jharkhand

BJP National President Nitin Nabin visited Ranchi for a two-day tour, marking his first visit to Jharkhand after taking charge. He met senior leaders, held organisational meetings, paid tribute at Birsa Munda statue, and planned discussions ahead of Rajya Sabha elections scheduled with nominations on June 8 and voting on June 18.

Ranchi, Jharkhand: BJP National President Nitin Nabin arrived in Ranchi on Saturday for a two-day official visit to Jharkhand, marking his first trip to the state after assuming charge as the party’s national president, according to party sources.

During his visit, Nabin is scheduled to participate in multiple organisational programmes and internal party meetings. A party official confirmed that the visit carries significant political importance in view of the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in the state.

Upon his arrival at Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi, Nabin received a grand reception from senior BJP leaders, including Jharkhand BJP President Aditya Sahu, Union Minister Sanjay Seth, former Chief Ministers Arjun Munda and Raghubar Das, and Champai Soren.

As part of his itinerary, Nabin paid floral tribute to the statue of tribal leader Birsa Munda at Birsa Chowk in Ranchi. Speaking to reporters, he described the visit as deeply meaningful, stating that “visiting Jharkhand is like coming home.”

Following this, he proceeded to the BJP state headquarters in Ranchi, where he is scheduled to hold discussions with Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, and members of the party’s core committee.

Later in the day, he will participate in a dialogue with intellectuals, aimed at strengthening the party’s outreach and ideological engagement.

Jharkhand BJP General Secretary Amar Bauri stated that the national president will also visit Bokaro on June 7. He will further hold meetings with district presidents, in-charges, and party officials in Ranchi.

The visit comes ahead of the election process for two Rajya Sabha seats in Jharkhand. The last date for filing nominations is June 8, while the voting is scheduled for June 18.

One of the seats became vacant following the death of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha co-founder Shibu Soren, while the other seat held by BJP leader Deepak Prakash is set to fall vacant upon completion of his six-year term on June 21.

The high-level visit and intensive organisational engagements underline the BJP’s strategic preparations ahead of the crucial Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand.
